FACTIONFORGE / COUNTER
Counter terms & conditions
Version: 2026-09-11.1
What the counter measures
The counter measures requests for its image. Repeated visits, automated requests, and image proxies can affect the number. It is not a count of unique people and should not be used as an audited traffic measurement. A starting number is chosen by the counter’s creator.
Embedding a counter
Use counters only on pages where you are allowed to add them. Keep the FactionForge attribution link in the supplied embed where the host supports links. Counters do not perform game actions or bypass Torn’s rules. Your host may restrict images, scripts, or BBCode.
Fair use
Do not use automated requests to inflate counters or overwhelm the service. Counter creation is limited to 10 per network address per hour. Abusive counters or requests may be blocked. There is no fee to create a counter in this version.
Data used by this service
We store each counter’s style, chosen starting number, total, creation time, last image-request time, and the time and version of the accepted terms. The builder creates a random browser key so settings changes in that browser can reuse the same counter record; the key is not an account credential. If you enter a Torn profile URL, we store that URL and any user ID present in its XID parameter or numeric Torn path as a self-declared label. FactionForge does not verify that the URL belongs to you. We store a short-lived, keyed hash derived from the creator’s network address to limit abuse; expired hashes are removed periodically. Counter image requests do not set cookies or store individual visitor profiles, IP addresses, or browsing histories in the counter database. The hosting provider’s access logs may separately record network addresses and requests.
Availability and saved code
The service is provided as available. Outages, blocked images, browser caching, and proxy caching may prevent visits from being counted. Save your embed code: this version has no account dashboard, recovery, or reset interface. Anyone with the public image URL can view the count and generate additional image requests. Clearing browser storage or changing browsers loses the local key used to reconnect with the same record.
Agreement
By selecting “I agree” and creating a counter, you accept these terms. FactionForge is an independent community service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Torn or Counter12.
